You may also want to place black obsidian in a particular room of your home with the intention of protecting a certain area of your life. Here are a few ideas:. Kan is connected to the water element and the color black, so black obsidian could be especially supportive in this position. Your bedroom is the area of your home that is most closely connected to you, so black obsidian in your bedroom can help with personal protection. Another way you can use black obsidian or another black stone in your home for protection is to create a grid: place one stone in each corner of your home or under each corner of your bed.
Your kitchen represents how you nourish yourself, as well as your resources. It can help you remove any blockages in your being and see through the facades. Just don't extrapolate it all the way or you'll end up with a self serving nihilistic device to justify all manner of wickedness. Maerwald has no choice either way, reencarnating or staying in the Keep, and there is no evidence either way for which would cause more suffering.
We only know being released gave immediate peace to him, not how he feels about becoming an eternal guardian, so I don't think it is out of question for the Watcher to feel turning the rope into a chain is not a bad thing. Dude, I think you're reading my post with an angrier ear than I'm typing it.
You think I'm wrong? I have no real stake in what you do with Maerwald. I already recognized some logical merit to the argument. I just think it falls into bit of a darker grey area for my tastes. I'm just discussing the issue, but I assure you without rancor.
Maybe the words "self serving nihilistic device to justify all manner of wickedness" rubbed me the wrong way. If you mean no offense, don't write such things, especialy when discussing something as deeply personal as morality. And I don't think I ever said that I am a dude. Or that I am not. I am curious if you assumed I was male for some specific reason. It makes sense that people have diverging views on the situation, but your last posts seen to imply that you believe that those who think that chaining Maerwald's soul to the Keep can be seen as moraly good under the right light are in pratice a few steps above being completely amoral.
I am not saying you really think that way, but you could try to soften your words, to not give such impression. You can post now and register later. Luckmann Posted April 9, Posted April 9, edited. I think they should have had fun with it. If you bind him to the castle - you should get one of those Paper Dialog options going "You wake up to a deep somber moan in the room, as your eyes dart across the shadows you see not a soul in sight.
Exyll Posted April 9, Rosveen Posted April 9, Click the toggle button. Your screen should now look like the one above.
Notice that the link now appears without the braces and the toggle button now is a pencil icon that, when clicked will take you back to edit mode. Now click the link of the note to create your new note. Your new note will now appear both in the main window and the notes panel. In order to edit your new note, click on the pencil button and type in some text.
The cool thing is that this document will still exist even if you delete the link from the original document as shown above. This link approach also works great if you have a project where you know you need certain notes for aspects of the project. You can create a master project page and create links to all the documents you need. Once you are ready to actually populate those notes, simply click on the link.
Very efficient. Text editing works a little bit differently in Obsidian than it does in traditional word processors like Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Those tools have rich text editing toolbars with all the functions you might want like bold, italics, underline, etc.. Instead Obsidian leverages Markdown for text editing. Markdown is a syntax that allows you to use symbols inside the text that can be interpreted as text formatting.
This sounds hard but it is really not and I will teach you some of the basics below. The image above shows how text formatting in the right panel with the left panel showing how to write it in Markdown. As you can see, it is relatively straight-forward once you get the hang of it. There is also an awesome cheat sheet at this link that can be helpful in learning Markdown. One of the strengths of Obsidian, in my opinion, is its powerful implementation of linking. We already know how to create new notes via link but you can also create:.
Backlinks are links in a note that take you to another note inside your Obsidian vault. There are two benefits to backlinking:. But what if you want to create a link to a specific section of another note? Obsidian supports this as well.
Creating external links to websites is straight-forward as well. You need to write use the Markdown structure for links which is:. As you can see from the image above, I show writing a link for Google on the left in edit mode using markdown schema. On the right, you can see it rendered in preview mode.
