Why does dvd player make noise

Location: Mayor's Income, Tennessee. To the OP Otherwise, they play fine in my Naim CD5i. Meanwhile, some disc skip in the Naim and play fine in the NAD. Just goes to show CDs are more "like vinyl" that we realize. Location: Germany reality , Japan in dreams. Half of my CD collection do mechanical noises in my players.

Was always wondering about that. Location: Torremolinos, Spain. It may have something to do with cheaply made CD presses. EddieVanHalen , Feb 24, Location: Arizona. I have always noticed this also, but I have also noticed that the noisier discs seem to be spinning faster at the time of hearing the noise. Not sure though, but it could also be the weight, some discs weigh more than others.

TwoTone25 , Feb 24, Location: Mid Atlantic. The OP didn't specify how old the unit is or whether this has been an issue from the start. Mr Bass , Feb 24, Location: USA. Given the imprecision the CD's are manufactured to it's actually surprising they don't vibrate more, could be one of the reasons the drives fail.

GuildX , Feb 24, Location: Austria. It has to do something with some CDs being slightly warped or off-center, if that's possible. Some CDs really make those light slim-drives move around the desk while ripping. I used to rip those in my old heavy Toshiba notebook that was build like a tank.

Now I put a mousepad under the drive and a book on it. Back in the days when I was much more worried about what could go wrong with my CDs or player these noises really bugged me. I don't know if you could say the same about the Technika in 10 years time.

Since the OP stated "the disc spinning is noisy" I presumed this was during normal viewing conditions The OP may just have been concerned that the fact it was making a noise meant it may be faulty. Please don't use roll eyes it's very rude and uncalled for. The AS one makes more noise than the sony, however it was bought cheaper from Richer sounds, so you get what you pay for.

Oh really? I think it's very "called for" in this case. This may remedy buzzing related to the TV itself rather than external devices. Humming noises are usually emitted from the power supply area and normally cannot be heard at normal listening volume. Some TV models have cooling fans, and these may be heard at very low volumes. If the fan noise is obtrusive, then the TV may require service.

The buzzing may be caused by overly large connection cables, the cables resting on the back of the television, interferance caused from a connected device, a faulty power strip, or an echo from the enviroment. Experiment with different cables until the buzzing is no longer present, as this is not an issue with your TV. There are many causes for the speakers humming sound issue.

One of the common reasons is the electrical ground loop. Apart from that, the hardware issue can result in the buzzing sound from the speakers , such as your speaker faulty. In addition, the software issue, such as driver corruption probably causes the issue. The screen of the television is connected with screws to a stand or a wall mount. If the screws are too long or not tight, this can cause vibration noises. If repositioning the cables does not reduce the buzzing , remove all connection cables from the TV and uplug the TV for about 30 seconds.

The popping or cracking noises you hear after you turn off your TV are caused by different parts inside the TV contracting as they cool. It is caused by the thermal expansion the metal chassis of the TV goes through during the warm-up phase. These sounds are normal, and happen in a variety of different enviorments. If the noise continues it is not caused by the TV's speakers but by an external device or a component in the TV itself.

Try other troubleshooting to determine if the source of the noise. If it is, try right click on the icon and select eject or open etc to see if the tray opens.

If is appears but will not open there should be a paperclip sized hole in the front of the DVD drive. Insert an opened paperclip into the hole and gently push. There will be a place to change to composite in the TV menu if this is the problem.
