Why did flair go to tna

This new-found intensity made for hilarious promos, specifically with Jay Lethal last summer. However, Flair's credibility began to decline as time went on. His star power dwindled to that of a TNA regular. Sure, the Nature Boy has stated in the past that it was the WWE that forced him to retire, but that didn't stop him from making a complete fool of himself with his recent antics on television.

Keep in mind I'm do not oppose Ric Flair. It worries me, though, that he continues to wrestle at the age of This is an unnecessary effect detrimental to his segments and overall broadcast.

His most recent return match was ruined by his unusual backstage confrontation with Hulk Hogan. Given that he was recently exposed in a controversial piece a few days ago, Flair's stock isn't at its highest at the moment. Until TNA vastly improves their production quality, improves their writing situation, improves their commentary situation, they will remain basement dwellers.

Ric Flair on TNA isn't going to magically boost their ratings up to respectable levels. They can't pay him nearly what the WWE can, they can't fill the same arenas the WWE can, and they can't really do much with him other than make him a GM. Flair knows that if he wants to stay in the business, the WWE's door is always open to him.

What motivation would Flair have to go to TNA? Retiring was his decision, and if he ever decides to come back in any capacity, the WWE will welcome him back.

It was just something the writer threw in their to get peoples attention. Ric Flair has always talked about what a great relationship he has had with Vince McMahon and why the hell would he do anything to tarnish that? Ric didn't quit or get fired both parties agreed that it would be best for Ric to be able to get his life in order and be able to persue other things that his WWE contract would not allow him to such as go to smaller indie shows and other business ventures.

If anyone on this board thinks that Vince McMahon would let Ric Flair walk away without having trust in him that he wouldn't go to a rival company and I use the word rival quite loosley by the way then they are nuts. Besides Ric Flair was never the biggest draw anyway. He's not Hulk Hogan and smarks need to stop pretending he is.

But more venues will open up for tna to have flair there and ratings will go up to see what flair does wit sting and booker and if he's on creative then we might see tna wrestling back on its game cause he would deffinetly push aj and all the younger guys to be in main event matches and great fueds Maybe a thanksgivin treat??

However, Flair was a company guy and did things that he thought would benefit WCW. Neither Russo or Bischoff ever gave Flair the respect that he deserved. I don't see Flair working under Russo or Jarret.

Plus Steiner has made some negative remarks toward Flair in interviews, so I can't ever see the two of them co-existing in the same locker room. Another reason why I think he wouldn't go to TNA is that if he did go it would be a total slap in the face to WWE for everything they did to help revive his career.

Let's face it before Flair signed with WWE he was ready to just hang it up and fade away into non existence. The WWE has been very good to Flair they gave him a 3day send off.. When's the last time you've ever seen a promotion respect a performer that much? I don't think Flair left WWE on bad terms and I'm sure the door is open for him to return whenever he wants.

I think right now Flair has other goals he wants to acheive out of Pro Wrestling and maybe he wants to patch things up with his family that he had spend so many years away from. Maybe he'll take a few indy booking with the NWA and return to his old stomping grounds just to say thanks and maybe give the small indys a little rub at the same time. As Far as seeing Flair vs. Sting again. As much as I'd love to see it happen, I highly doubt that it would. Haner Pre-Show Stalwart. Joined: Jul 25, Messages: Likes Received: 6.

I would hate to see Flair go to TNA as a wrestler of any sort. A Flair vs Sting angle would be horrible in my eyes because Flair matches aren't that great anymore.

Are you forgetting about Kevin Nash he left WWE and he still remains excellent friends with Vince and even sat in his luxury box during wrestlemania Joined: Sep 11, Messages: 54 Likes Received: I understand where most of you guuys are comin from, but honestly, what more can Ric Flair do in wrestling?

Hes a 16 time world champion, and has had matches with most of the greatest wrestlers ever. And besides, hes like 60 years old?
